After sample confirmation, LEDs and other electronic components are mounted onto the PCB.
Once the SMT process is completed, the boards undergo Automated Optical Inspection (AOI).
AOI helps identify visible manufacturing abnormalities such as missing components, incorrect positioning, orientation problems, and certain soldering defects.
This allows us to identify potential PCB assembly problems before the product moves into the next stages of manufacturing.
Our objective is to keep the pass rate as close to 100% as possible before these boards continue into subsequent production.

3. Soldering, Assembly, and Glue Injection

After the PCB passes the required inspection, production continues through soldering and product assembly.
The lighting components, wiring, housing, and other required parts are assembled before the product goes through the glue injection and sealing process.
For permanent outdoor lighting, this stage is particularly important.
The product is expected to operate outside and remain exposed to changing environmental conditions over a long period of time.
But completing the assembly and sealing process does not mean the product is ready to ship.
The finished product still has to prove that it works.

4. Every Applicable Finished Product Is Powered On and Tested

After assembly is complete, finished products undergo power-on functional testing.
This test has a very straightforward purpose:
Does the finished product operate normally?
We power on the product and verify that it functions as expected before it moves forward.
This may sound basic, but it represents an important difference in quality-control philosophy.
We do not want a distributor or installer to be the first person who powers on a finished product and discovers that something is wrong.
That discovery should happen at our factory.
For critical finished-product functional checks, our approach is based on testing every applicable unit rather than checking only a few random samples from the production batch.

5. Waterproof Testing: 48–72 Hours Under Powered Conditions
Permanent outdoor lighting has to deal with an environment that indoor lighting does not.
Rain, moisture, and prolonged outdoor exposure all make waterproof performance important.
That is why GOULY does more than simply complete the sealing process and assume that the product is ready for outdoor use.
We perform waterproof testing designed to simulate demanding wet conditions.
Depending on the applicable product and test requirement, products are powered while exposed to water for 48–72 hours.
During this period, we verify two fundamental things:
No water ingress that compromises the product.
The product continues to operate normally.

6. Aging Testing: Normally 8 Hours, Longer When the Product Requires It
Passing a power-on test tells us that a product works at that moment.
It does not necessarily tell us how the product behaves after operating continuously.
That is why aging testing is another important part of the GOULY quality-control process.
For standard products, the normal aging-test period is approximately 8 hours.
For certain special-shaped lighting products, the standard aging period is approximately 10 hours.
Depending on the characteristics and requirements of a particular product, we may extend the aging-test period further.
During aging, products remain powered so our quality team can identify abnormal operation or potential early-stage failures that may not appear during a short functional test.
Again, the philosophy is prevention.
A product may work when it is first powered on but show instability after several hours of continuous operation.
We want those hours to happen inside our factory.
